Cheating..maybe

This one may not count as a stash busting exercise. This projet started a while ago. I had a pile of Jo Sharp Aran Tweed. Why? No idea. I don't think I have actually ever knit anything in the yarn to warrant it's existance in my home, but no matter, maybe it was an orphan and I took it in. There's heaps of it and when I saw these amazing cushions I knew my little orphaned balls of yarn had a purpose.

I'll still have some left over and seeing as that is not an option I will knit a blanket to go with the cushions...........Thanking of some kind of log cabin style blanket..........mmmmmm wonder if I need more yarn for that.........

Humble Beginnings

I bought this yarn about 6 years ago. There was plenty more of it. I knitted the most fabulous Aran Jumper for my darling son.There are two things that my son does to his handknit things from Mummy - either he loses it or he washes it. The lovely jumper became the victim of the latter. I have about 200 gram left. My darling son is climbing the Himalayas with his darling Dad this year. I am using this yarn to knit the darling son a really long, really warm (holding the yarn double) scarf to take along. Lets see where this scarf lands up. There's something about losing a scarf in the Himalayas that I can bear. Maybe, it has to do with the fact that every stitch was knit by me and be default it ( the scarf) is taking me along. Anyway, it is the first in my stash busting ventures. Read on......there is another.

STASH BUSTING

Today is the 21 February 2011. I intend to end this blogging hiatus with, in my opinion the biggest stash busting year of the century. I know I should have had it as a New Year's resolution, but, statistically it would have been doomed to fail. I reckon the 21 February 2011 is as good a date as any. The stash busting year of the century, yes, I know it sounds awfully 'over the top'. What makes this different is that the stash busting is extended to busting the stash that lives on my butt as well! Got the $250.00 walking shoes, no butter in the house, a deep freeze full of frozen calorie, portion controlled meals.I have no idea how much I weigh and have no intention of finding out. I just know it is too much. Published are pictures of my stash and if you think I am posting pictures of the stash on my butt, think again!Take my word for it the fabric and yarn stash in the pictures are a really true depictment of the stash on my butt........wool stash, fabric stash and brand new sewing machine. No excuses..........I'm going for it.........
